Every Quilt has a Story - By Avalina
I was born on a quiet hill far away, where the dust and wind carried stories, and the gentle breeze on my face taught me how to listen. One day, I climbed onto my horse, Free, and together we crossed lands and oceans until we reached North America, steered only by wind and fate.
Along the way, I found my family—not all at once, but like flowers blooming beside the road. Each one appeared in their own time, teaching me endurance and love. I learned from them the odd magic of belonging, and with that, the power to keep going. I learned to love the rhythm of dedication: to my work, to my home, to the small rituals that shape a life. The road has been hard, but good for the soul.
And everywhere I went, I gathered fabrics of every color, all telling me a story. Patterns came my way too, gifts from talented people whose imagination stayed with me. The lint whispered, carrying secrets of its cousin, the dust, revealing things no one had heard before.
Now I write and sew where memory and imagination meet, gathering the fibers of a life lived in motion and turning them into something warm and beautiful enough to keep. Though most often, they find their way to the homes of those I love.
Here you'll find my work, a story, a small piece of the secret journey, and me. - Avalina
